Who likes going to the dry cleaner? No one. That’s why we made your  machine washable and easy to care for. Just follow these tips to maintain your special qualities for years to come.

1. How to Wash Your silk

It’s best to wash your silk pillowcases once per week to get rid of perspiration, oil, dead skin, and bacteria. Proper cleanliness will help keep your skin clear and your pillowcase gleaming.

You don’t need to dry clean your silk products, they’re completely washer safe. But we do recommend following these instructions for best care.

Use a mild detergent made for delicate fabrics that doesn’t contain bleach, like Wash.

Be sure to use the delicate cycle or most gentle cycle setting on your washer. Use cool water, no higher than 30° Celsius or 84° Fahrenheit. The cooler, the better. Warmer water will break down your silk’s threading over time.

Prevent items like zippers and bra closures from snagging or agitating your silk. We recommend placing Blissy items into a  Mesh Laundry Bag to keep them separate and safe.

2. Can You Put silk in the Dryer?

The short answer is yes! Although it’s recommended to air dry silk, you can save precious time by putting your  in the dryer. Just be careful with extreme temperatures and follow these instructions. Once washed, place your  silk products in the dryer and set to the lowest temperature for up to 20 minutes. Remove your silk products and let them air dry the rest of the way until completely dried.

3. The Right Way To Iron Silk

If you lay your pillowcases flat to dry, they shouldn’t wrinkle. But if they dry a little ruffled, iron them out using the “silk” setting on your iron. Or you can use the steam option on your iron to steam out any wrinkles. Ironing is completely optional, but silk does look its best when it’s smooth!

4. Avoiding and Removing Stains

If your pillowcase gets a stain, treat it as soon as possible. Soak in COLD water and dab the stain with a mild detergent. Never let a stain set if you can help it.

If you get spray tans or use self-tanner, you know how it can cause browning to bedsheets and towels. If you can’t forgo the faux glow, we recommend our silk pillowcase in black to conceal tell-tale tanning stains.

5. Storing and Traveling With your silk

If you want to take your pillowcase on the go for first-class snoozing, keep it safe in its original packaging before storing in your suitcase. This will keep it clean and safe from snags. Your sleep mask comes with its own storage bag to use when traveling (or at home when not in use).
